Holly, AJ and David hit the home studio of Bridget and Cassie to record Kiss Me, Killer’s first ever taped interview.
The new podcast is titled Chips and Beans: A Punk Rock Podcast with Cassie and Bridget and the first episode took on power structures and hierarchies in DIY punk scenes – from sexual assault, to individual power, to promoters and sound engineers.
Bridget is a poet who played base in Bristol punk outfit, Viva Zapata! and recently formed acoustic folk-punk duo, Violet Scott & Amelia Bones, who will be playing our EP Launch Party on 10 November at The Chelsea Inn. In fact, we think it’s their first gig.
Cassie fronts in the might riot grrrl band Fight, Rosa, Fight! who have played right across the UK and also plays in Worst Witch. She also writes for UK online music magazine, Louder Than War.

The second half of the podcast feature Kiss Me, Killer talking about about their debut EP and discussing their experience on the punk scene. Drummer AJ gave an assured, competent media-savvy performance and Holly provided insight into her creative processes. David piped up with some tortuous analogy about radar dishes. All in all though it went well and I hope you enjoy listening it.
As a special treat there’s a nearly-final version of our song Snakes, which will feature on the EP.

Fortunately, in dribs and drabs punters started to come in and our openers enjoyed a receptive crowd who enjoyed their set of political and melodic music with some great bass accompaniment from Bridget, a poet who recently interviewed Kiss Me, Killer on her new podcast.
